A fun way to boil water
Bought this as a birthday gift for my wife who loves all things Jersey Cow. I called the seller to make sure they had it in stock, so order was entered over phone.
The Paint is pretty well coated top, bottom and inside. The handle is a pretty tough plastic secured with two screws from the outside. The lid secures tightly to ensure vapors go through the spout. The cow head on the spout is mostly plastic but seems pretty sturdy. Yes it is not bulletproof like the 1950s tea kettles, but this one is way better built than most tea kettles I have seen.
When the water reaches a boil the steam goes through the head and comes out the nostrils (cute feature). I will say though the sound is not really a MOOOOO, it is more like HAAAAAA, but no complaints there. So much better than the typical tea kettle high pitch whistle.
what whistle???
Its cute but it doesn't always whistle, at least mine doesn't. Actually it only whistled once since i got it. I have used it many many times and it doesn't whistle. The only reason I kept it is b/c its cute. I just put on my tea pot to boil water for tea. I forgot about it. The water boiled out. Not one moo not one whistle came out of it---i wasn't that far away so I would have heard it.
cow tea kettle
my future mother in law loves this. it is her favorite animal. and she was thrilled that i was able to find one that could replace her old broken one.
