Screws too short
I was disappointed with this lid knob, the screws were too short to fit through a glass cover, yet they advertise for glass. Second the quality is poor considering the cost. They should sell them for about $2.50 not $4.35. However, for those who purchased them and is now stuck with useless knobs, here is the fix. I went to a hardware store and puchased a 1 inch screw the same size. Of course 1 inch is too long, so for my need I cut 1/8 inch off with a hacksaw. Screw a nut on the screw before to make the cut so as you take the nut off it cleans any burrs left on the screw from cutting. So now instead of a 3/4 inch screw (too short) you have a 7/8 inch screw and it worked perfect for my glass lids.
Good Luck
Cookware lid knob
Buyer beware. This knob has a major flaw in my opinion. The screw that is supposed to hold the knob on is too short. If the screw was only an eight of an inch longer this would have been perfect.
Good value, works well.
I bought two of these to replace some 30+ year-old Revereware pot lid handles that had come off. I drilled the hole in the lid very slightly larger than it was, and screwed these on. They work great. I have been using them for about 6 months; no sign of loosening or any other problems. I thought about leaving off the lower piece, for a cleaner look, but decided to go ahead and use it for the safety of fingers being that much further from the hot lid. For a few dollars, I have two more useable saucepans again.
