Beats a glass lid
I purchased this lid because my old glass lid trapped used cooking oil between the metal rim and the glass, where it could not be removed. This lid does not have any such problem. The metal is thin, so the lid is fairly light, weighing 0.7 lbs. It should fit pots and pans with an inner diameter between 9.5 inches (the diameter of the lid's recessed portion) and 10.5 inches (the lid's overall diameter). Overall, this is a very good product, the one downside being that the handle becomes too hot to touch after a few minutes.
Good Quality, Lacks in Aesthetics
This is a simple 2-layer stainless steel cover with a riveted handle. The handle attachment is extremely secure, but the shop-end of the rivet looks like it was deformed with a hammer - far from a nice round factory rivet look. Fits a 8" pot perfectly. The inside diameter of the lip is 7-1/2", the outside is 8-3/16". The surface is brushed metal, but not mirror-polished, has some scratches and discolorations out of the package. Made in the USA.
Lodge 10 1/4" cast iron frying pan cover
This cover fits the classic Lodge frying pan so well that you can vent out of one if the pan's pouring spouts if you want to. I would have liked thicker material but it's OK and looks good. Made in Minnesota USA!
